What is involved in a complete house rewire?
A full house rewiring is broken down into two essential stages: First Fix and Second Fix. Here is exactly what happens.
Marking Out & Strip Out
We carefully plan the new layout, mark all the routes and chases on your walls, and then safely isolate and remove the old dangerous wiring.
First Fix (Cabling & Chasing)
Carpets and floorboards are lifted to route the new cables. We use dust-extracted heavy machinery to cut channels (chases) into the brickwork for the new back boxes and wiring.
Making Good & Plastering
Once the cables are securely in the walls, the chases are filled and plastered over. The site is tidied to remove the majority of dust and rubble.
Second Fix & Testing
After the plaster is dry, we return to connect the new consumer unit, install the shiny new sockets, switches, and light fittings, and perform rigorous testing before issuing your NAPIT certification.

Q. Do I need to move out during a rewire?
Not usually, but we strongly recommend it if possible. We phase the work room by room to keep disruption to a minimum, though a rewire is inevitably messy and you'll be without power in the areas we are working on.
Q. How do I know if my house needs rewiring?
Common signs include old rubber or fabric-insulated cabling, a fuse box with rewireable fuses, frequent tripping, or scorch marks around sockets. If you're not sure, an EICR will tell you for certain — and we can carry one out first.
Q. Do you certify the work and notify Building Control?
