Project Brief
The kitchen layout required new and revised electrical points for everyday worktop use, cooking, extraction and refrigeration. Each supply needed to be positioned around the fitted cabinetry while keeping the finished accessories practical and easy to isolate.
The existing socket arrangement did not meet current requirements, so a brand-new ring main was installed for the kitchen socket circuit. Existing socket-circuit wiring was also modified where needed to suit the finished room layout.
The lighting brief combined useful illumination at the worktops with a softer low-level effect. Under-cabinet and plinth LEDs were installed as separate zones so the homeowner can control them independently.
Electrical Work Completed
Installed a double socket for practical worktop power.
Provided the electrical feed for the extractor fan.
Installed a dedicated socket for the gas hob ignition.
Provided the microwave supply with a separate isolator.
Provided the oven supply with a separate isolator.
Installed a dedicated socket for the fridge.
Modified the existing socket circuit to suit the new kitchen layout.
Installed a brand-new ring main for the socket circuit because the existing arrangement did not meet current requirements.
Installed warm LED lighting beneath the wall cabinets.
Installed warm LED plinth lighting, switched independently from the under-cabinet lighting.
Appliance Supplies
The extractor fan, gas hob ignition, microwave, oven and fridge each received the required power connection, with separate isolators for the microwave and oven feeds.
Layered LED Lighting
Warm under-cabinet lighting brightens the worktop, while plinth LEDs create a low-level ambient effect around the base units. Separate switching keeps both lighting zones flexible.
